The Delhi High Court has restrained Lokpal from taking any action on a CBI report until May 10. The report investigates two properties allegedly linked to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party president, Shibu Soren. The court also issued a notice to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who lodged the complaint before Lokpal. The order came in response to JMM’s petition challenging the ombudsman’s directive to CBI to probe the two properties. JMM’s counsel argued that the properties belonged to the party, not Soren, and that Lokpal’s jurisdiction doesn’t cover political parties.
