Nestle India and Dr. Reddy’s announced on Thursday their plans to form a joint venture (JV) with the objective of introducing innovative nutraceutical brands to consumers in India and other agreed territories. By combining Nestle’s renowned range of nutritional health solutions with Dr. Reddy’s commercial capabilities, the partnership aims to provide a wide variety of vitamin, minerals, herbals, and supplements from Nestle Health Science (NHSc) to consumers. The JV will license select brands from both Nestle and Dr. Reddy’s to the JV company, which will be headquartered in Hyderabad. The joint venture is anticipated to start its operations in the second quarter of FY25.
Suresh Narayanan, chairman and managing director of Nestle India, stated, “This joint venture will enable us to build a robust retail and distribution network to take our brands closer to consumers and making a meaningful difference to improve the quality of life.” M.V. Ramana, CEO – Branded Markets (India & Emerging Markets) at Dr. Reddy’s, commented, “This novel approach of leveraging mutually complementary strengths of both parent companies will enable better access and affordability for consumers.”
