The special PMLA court in Ranchi has denied the request for interim bail filed by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Hemant had filed the plea to attend the last rites of his uncle, Raja Ram Soren, who passed away on Saturday after a long illness. Hemant’s lawyer, Pradeep Chandra, requested a 13-day interim bail for his client to perform the final rites of his close relative.
However, the Enforcement Directorate opposed the plea, and the court rejected the petition. Hemant has now filed a regular bail petition, and the next hearing is scheduled for May 1.
