Women in the country would never forgive Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remark about mangalsutra (thaali), TNCC Mahila Congress President Hazeena Syed stated on Saturday. The Mahila Congress will organize protests in all districts of Tamil Nadu on April 29 to condemn Modi’s statement. Previously, during election campaigns in Rajasthan, Modi mentioned that if the Congress came to power, it would redistribute the wealth of the people and give it to the Muslims. He further stated that the Congress would even seize the ‘mangalsutra’ of the women. Hazeena condemned Modi’s speech, emphasizing that women in the country perceive the thaali as their cultural identity. She added that all sections of society have experienced grief and misery during the past 10 years of the Modi government.
