Laasya Utsava, an evening celebrating classical dance, was organised by Kalaagat Niranjan Foundation at Triveni Kala Sangam in Delhi. The event showcased the talent and artistry of classical dancers from different styles of Indian dance.

The evening commenced with a mesmerizing Manipuri Dance recital by Babina Chabungbam. Her performance, titled Yeningtha, portrayed the essence of the spring season and the joy it brings to human and nature. The performance depicted the playful interactions of Krishna, Radha, and gopis during this season.

The second performance featured Hritika Aneesh, a young exponent of Mohiniyattam. Her presentation captivated the audience and showcased the beauty and mystical aspects of this graceful dance form.

Ayana Mukherjee then presented a mesmerizing Kuchipudi dance recital. Her performance focused on portraying the distressed condition of Radha when she is separated from Lord Krishna.

Shalakha Rai, a young exponent of Odissi, presented a beautiful insight into the intricacies of this classical dance form. Her performance began with Gunakari Pallavi, symbolizing the blossoming of dance and the accompanying music.

Ragini Maharaj, the granddaughter of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj, showcased the beauty and delicacies of Kala Bindadin gharana through her graceful dance compositions.

Dr. Sridhar Vasudevan, a Bharatanatyam scholar and exponent, delivered a divine and energetic performance titled LAASYAANGA. Her performance celebrated the cosmic dancing-duos, Shiva and Parvati, and symbolized the dance of duality in oneness.

The evening concluded with a vote of thanks by Yamika Mahesh, a young kathak exponent and founder of Kalaagat Niranjana Foundation. She emphasized the importance of celebrating World Dance Day and promoting the rich heritage of Indian classical dances.
