Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted Congress MP Rahul Gandhi during his campaign tour of Gujarat. He accused Congress of wanting to change the Constitution to give religious reservations, challenged them to declare in writing that they will not grant religion-based quotas, and criticized them for not condemning ‘vote jihad’ comments made by an ally candidate. Modi also linked Congress with Pakistan, alleging that Pakistan wants Rahul Gandhi as PM and that Congress and Pakistan have a partnership. He accused Congress of creating divisions among Hindus and practicing appeasement politics. Voting for 25 of the 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat will take place in the third phase of elections.
