A case has been registered against BJP president J P Nadda, its IT cell head Amit Malviya, and state president B Y Vijayendra regarding an animated video shared on social media, following a complaint from Congress to police and Election Commission.

KPCC’s media and communication wing chairman Ramesh Babu alleged in his complaint that Malviya posted a video on @bjp4karnataka based on instructions from Nadda and Vijayendra to spread enmity and trigger riots.

According to Babu, the official X handle of BJP Karnataka posted the video, captioned “Beware…Beware…Beware..!” in Kannada. It depicted caricatures of Rahul Gandhi and Siddaramaiah, showing them placing an egg labelled “Muslims” in a nest with three other eggs marked “SC, ST, and OBC”. The clip showed Rahul feeding “funds” only to the bird that hatched from the “Muslim” egg, which then kicked the birds that hatched from the “SC, ST, and OBC” eggs.

Babu alleged this video was posted to incite enmity among communities and violates the code of conduct. Congress also expressed shock at the video being cleared by the state-level media-monitoring committee.
