National Conference President Farooq Abdullah criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for alleging that the Congress’ manifesto carries the imprint of the Muslim League. Abdullah argued that PM Modi has not read the manifesto and urged him to do so to understand its content accurately. Speaking at an election meeting in Pulwama, Abdullah stated that the manifesto does not include what the Prime Minister and BJP leaders claim it does. He pleaded with them to read the document and discover the facts. Abdullah asserted that Indians are a free people and make their own decisions, regardless of what other nations, such as Pakistan or the United States, say. He emphasized that Pakistan does not hold India in its pocket and that Indians decide independently. Abdullah also remarked on the Sangh Parivar, stating that they never participated in the freedom struggle for independence. He referred to historical record and parliamentary statements to support his claim. Regarding the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat, Abdullah acknowledged difficulties faced by the INDIA bloc but confirmed that the National Conference would support the official candidate of the opposition alliance. He stated that the people of Kargil and Leh have differing opinions on the candidate, but the alliance has decided the candidate from Delhi. Abdullah conveyed their message to the Ladakh party members, urging them to follow the alliance’s decision and vote for the alliance candidate.
