SpiceJet has commenced its Haj operations for this year with the inaugural flights taking off from Srinagar to Medina. The airline will be operating special Haj flights using two wide-body A340 aircraft, each with a seating capacity of 324 passengers. Along with Srinagar, SpiceJet will also operate special Haj flights from Guwahati, Gaya, Bhopal, Indore, Aurangabad, and Vijayawada. The A340 aircraft will be deployed from Srinagar and Guwahati for these flights. Last year, SpiceJet generated a revenue of INR 337 crore from its Haj operations. In addition to the A340 aircraft, the airline will also utilize its Boeing 737 MAX planes for the special Haj flights. Debashis Saha, VP and Delegated Accountable Manager of SpiceJet, expressed his honor in facilitating the sacred pilgrimage of Haj and extended his wishes for a blessed Haj to all the pilgrims. SpiceJet plans to operate 102 special flights during this Haj season catering to over 13,800 pilgrims.
