Leading healthcare companies Pfizer and AstraZeneca have announced significant new investments in France, with a combined value of nearly $1 billion. The investments were revealed ahead of the annual ‘Choose France’ business summit, where French President Emmanuel Macron aims to attract major international businesses and investors. Pfizer plans to invest 500 million euros ($538.5 million) in research and development in France, while AstraZeneca will invest $388 million in its Dunkirk site. These investments are part of Macron’s efforts to strengthen Paris’ position as a leading European business capital.
