Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday hit back at PM Narendra Modi’s remarks that Uddhav’s party was a ‘nakli’ (fake) Shiv Sena. Uddhav questioned if PM Modi was putting indirect pressure on Supreme Court that even the apex court shouldn’t give his party Shiv Sena name and bow and arrow symbol. The SC has so far refused to stay the Election Commission order granting ‘Shiv Sena’ party name and symbol to Shinde faction. In an interview to Saamna, Sena (UBT) mouthpiece, Uddhav also took a dig at BJP on the controversy of Sena (UBT) workers being stopped from entering a housing society in Ghatkopar (W) to distribute pamphlets, allegedly over “Marathi versus Gujarati issue”. Uddhav said PM Modi was going to do a roadshow in the same area to ‘give strength to Marathi haters’. Uddhav said while there was Pakistan in BJP’s campaign, there was INDIA in his, and described the Modi govt as “Ghajini sarkar”. “… Even if they are Gujaratis, North Indians, even Muslims… people have never forgotten work we did during Covid. I did not differentiate between caste and region,” Uddhav said. — Chaitanya Marpakwar
