The Kerala High Court has impleaded Sheeba M.R., the mother of J.S. Sidharthan, in the bail petitions of the nine students who have been arrested in connection with the young man’s death. Sidharthan, a student at the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Wayanad, allegedly died after being ragged and assaulted by senior students. Sheeba M.R. argued that the CBI preliminary chargesheet revealed the active participation of the accused in her son’s assault and lynching. She expressed concern that if the accused were granted bail, they could interfere with the investigation, leading to potential witness intimidation. The court has set the hearing for the bail petition on May 22, 2022.
