North Goa SP Akshat Kaushal has announced the busting of a gang running a fake call centre in Nerul. The gang was targeting victims in foreign countries, specifically the US, by impersonating employees of a multinational technology company. Three individuals, identified as Patel Perth, Arjun Bakaraniya, and Subhodh Sharma, were caught red-handed at the villa where the call centre was set up.

The gang used laptops and mobile phones to offer technical support and anti-virus plans to victim callers, charging them for the services provided. The Police are still investigating the gang’s modus operandi and more arrests are expected in the case.

Goa Police officers, including PSI Mandar Parab and staff from the Porvorim police station, were responsible for the successful operation.

The gang’s activities came to light on May 13, when the police raided the villa and apprehended the suspects. They are now facing charges related to running a fake call centre and cheating victims.

Goa SP Akshat Kaushal has urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to fake call centres or scams. He also assured the public that the police will take swift action against such criminal activities.
