Sumbul Touqeer, who stars in Kavya: Ek Jazbaa Ek Junoon, recently opened up about her reaction to the surprising news of her first big TV show, Imlie, coming to an end. Imlie aired for almost four years, undergoing two significant story changes before its finale. Sumbul, who played the lead role, expressed her feelings about the show wrapping up. Despite her roles in other TV series like Chandragupta Maurya and Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein, Imlie held a special place in her heart as her debut lead role.
She felt stunned when she learned about the show’s cancellation and was thankful for the opportunities it brought her. Sumbul cherished her time on the Imlie set, where she formed strong bonds with the cast and crew. Even after leaving the show, she made it a point to visit the set whenever she was filming in Film City. This allowed her to stay connected with her colleagues and maintain friendships. Sumbul especially mentioned her close relationship with lead actors Adrija Roy and Sai Ketan Rao, whom she grew fond of during her time on the show.
She expressed her sadness at missing various aspects of the show, such as climbing the mountain at Film City. Initially paired with Gashmeer Mahajani, Sumbul’s on-screen chemistry later flourished with Fahmaan Khan, who replaced Mahajani in the series.
Sumbul added, ‘Wo filmcity mein jaate hi, upar right mein pahad pe chhad na, I am going to miss everything.’ As Imlie concluded its successful run, Sumbul Touqeer’s reflections highlighted the profound impact the show had on her career and the lasting connections she made during her time on set.
