External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar, in the ongoing 6-day visit to South America, called out China for ignoring the long-lasted agreements with the nation since 1990s. The minister admitted that India-China relations “are going through a very difficult phase”; further complaining that the Asian shark has disregarded the agreement of not bringing in large troops into the prohibited areas. China had previously breached the prolonged stand-off in the Eastern Ladakh area, during the Galwan valley incident in 2020.
