On September 18^th, a Chandigarh University girl recorded a video of around 60 fellow hostellers taking baths, and sent it to her boyfriend in Shimla; which was allegedly further uploaded online by another. The three have been arrested by the police in a 7-day custody, after university students broke out into nationally enraged protests on the streets. Currently a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is looking into their phone activities, after grilling the three with hours of questioning. The girl claims, her boyfriend’s accused friend was blackmailing her.
