After what has been witnessed as the most horrific South-Korean tragedy since 2014, the police is investigating the causes of the stampede in the tourist-attraction Itaewon area that killed 154 people and injured 149 others. The suspected reasons are the narrow alleyway, people uphill pushing the people stuck downhill, not enough space for regulatory 137 officers, unaware of unofficial celebrations accommodating hefty crowds. Around 100,000 people, the highest ever during Halloween celebrations, were gathered in the area. Survivors are being interviewed and security cameras being thoroughly checked.
