After the collapse of the Morbi Bridge and the cause of deaths of over a 100 people, the site of the incident has been visited by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The PM reaches Gujarat today, and heads to the unfortunate site alongside CM Bhupendra Patel. The bridge was over a century old, which was repaired and re-opened a few days back, when the weight of an unmanageable crowd allegedly snapped the bridge’s cables. It later came out that the same was opened without the consent of municipalities’ fitness certificate.
