During the stretch to Shamshabad on the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi got accompanied by Radhika Vemula, the mother of a dalit scholar deceased while protesting against discrimination, Rohith Vemula. The woman expressed support to Congress while teary-eyed, emphasizing the need to get rid of the corrupt BJP-RSS power. Gandhi sat with the students on campus, later tweeting that Rohith “will always be the symbol of my struggle”. Radhika has announced to extend her padyatra.
