South Central Railway (SCR) and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) have jointly announced the operation of three additional trips of the Punya Kshetra Yatra tourist train. These trips are scheduled from Secunderabad railway station on June 28, July 12, and July 26, 2021.
The Punya Kshetra Yatra tourist train is designed to aid pilgrims in visiting various holy and historical places in the eastern and northern parts of India. The train will make stops at Secunderabad, Kazipet, and Khammam in Telangana, as well as Vijayawada, Eluru, Rajamahendravaram, Samalkot, Pendurti, and Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh.
The tour package covers a range of pilgrimage destinations, including Puri, Konark, Gaya, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Prayagraj, over a span of eight nights and nine days. The package also ensures arrangements for local transportation, accommodation, and food, providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner both on board and off board.
To ensure an enriching travel experience, the tour will be facilitated by professional tour guides and equipped with security measures such as CCTV cameras in all coaches. Public announcements will be made on all coaches, and travel insurance will also be provided. Throughout the trip, IRCTC tour managers will be available to assist the passengers.
The Punya Kshetra Yatra tourist train is scheduled to depart from Secunderabad at noon. The cost per head for the different categories are as follows: ₹15,075 for the economy category (sleeper class), ₹23,875 for the standard category (3AC), and ₹31,260 for the comfort category (2AC).
