Four Infiltrators Killed in J&K as Police Foil Second Attempt in Ten Days

The armed forces killed four unidentified infiltrators along the Line of Control (LoC) in Machal of Kupwara in northern Kashmir on Friday, said officials. The incident took place in the Kala Jungle area in the wee hours of Friday. The infiltrators were heavily armed and appeared to be very well-trained. The army recovered nine AK series rifles, three pistols, four grenades, 288 AK and pistol rounds, 55 suspected narco packets, and other huge quantities of war-like stores, said the army. According to the army, the recoveries indicated a vicious plan by Pakistan to disrupt peace in the Kashmir Valley. The successful operation is a big blow to the narco funding and terror plans of the infiltrators.
The army had previously foiled another infiltration attempt on June 16 in the Keran sector of Kupwara. Officials said the army laid ambushes and tracked the movement of the infiltrators throughout the night. At around 0430 hours, four terrorists were observed crossing the LoC and were engaged upon coming in effective range. An intense firefight ensued resulting in the elimination of all four terrorists, according to a statement by the Srinagar-based defense spokesperson.
