Western Australia is hosting this year’s National Conference of the Australia India Chamber of Commerce (AICC), strengthening the partnership between Australia and India. The two-day event, attended by industry leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs, aims to foster business opportunities and facilitate discussions on investment and trade. Notable delegates include Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan from the Tamil Nadu Government and a business delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industries. The conference is particularly significant as Australia and India transition from an economic cooperation and trade agreement towards a comprehensive economic co-operation agreement. With India being an important economic partner for Western Australia, the conference will emphasize investment opportunities in sectors like defence, space, critical minerals, renewable energy, technology and innovation, and international education. Western Australia’s Premier, Roger Cook, emphasizes the importance of nurturing the relationship between the two countries and promoting investment in job-creating industries of the future.
