SP MLAs Unhappy with Akhilesh, Breakup Imminent: Om Prakash Rajbhar

Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) president Om Prakash Rajbhar has stated that a situation similar to Maharashtra would soon arise in Uttar Pradesh. He claimed that numerous MLAs and leaders of the Samajwadi Party (SP), disgruntled with Akhilesh Yadav, are likely to switch sides and join the Yogi Adityanath-led government. Rajbhar mentioned that these individuals may take an oath as ministers or contest the Lok Sabha elections. While he did not disclose any names, he stated that these members were in touch with SBSP and other parties as they do not see a prosperous future with SP. Rajbhar also mentioned that Jayant Chaudhary, the chief of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), is unhappy with Akhilesh Yadav, and the alliance between Yadav and Chaudhary is on the verge of collapsing. Regarding a prospective SBSP alliance, Rajbhar expressed his intention to communicate with Mayawati, the president of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), to form a broader alliance for the 2024 polls. SBSP, which was formed in 2002, has significant support among the Rajbhar community in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The party has called for the inclusion of the community in the Scheduled Castes list. In the 2022 assembly polls, SBSP formed an alliance with SP and won six out of 19 seats, but later broke the alliance during the presidential polls. In the 2017 elections, SBSP contested in alliance with BJP and secured four seats.
