Sisodia’s Property Attachment by ED Has Nothing to Do With Any Scam: Arvind Kejriwal

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has defended Manish Sisodia, stating that the properties attached by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have no connection to the alleged ‘liquor scam’ intended to defame the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its leaders. Kejriwal accused the Prime Minister of using ED, CBI, and police to hinder AAP’s work and tarnish its image. The attached properties, which include two flats and a bank account, were already disclosed in Sisodia’s election affidavit and income tax returns. The ED’s actions are seen by AAP as a part of a larger campaign to discredit the party and its members. Earlier, the ED issued a provisional order to seize assets worth Rs 52.24 crore under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), involving Sisodia and his wife, who are currently under investigation for the liquor scam. The Delhi government previously revoked its new excise policy due to allegations of irregularities raised by the CBI. Sisodia is presently in jail in connection with the alleged scam.
