Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reached out to the chief ministers and lieutenant governors of North Indian states affected by heavy rains and floods. Shah spoke to the chief ministers of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, as well as the lieutenant governors of Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir, to assess the situation and offer central assistance. As torrential rains continue to cause flash floods and landslides, at least 15 people have lost their lives.
