Photography and Videography Banned in Kedarnath Temple

Devotees have been banned from taking photographs and making videos on the premises of the Kedarnath Temple in Dehradun. This decision was made in response to a viral video that showed a woman blogger proposing to her boyfriend in front of the temple. The Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has taken measures to enforce the ban, including putting up boards around the temple area. These boards clearly state that no mobile phones, photography, or videography are allowed inside the temple premises. They also inform visitors that they are under CCTV surveillance. The temple committee has also requested that individuals dress modestly and refrain from setting up tents or camps in the temple precincts. The boards are written in both Hindi and English, and they warn of legal action against violators. Ajendra Ajay, the president of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, emphasized the importance of respecting the beliefs and norms of the religious space. While no complaints have been received from the Badrinath Dham so far, similar boards will be installed there as well. This decision aims to maintain the sanctity and peaceful atmosphere of the temple and ensure that devotees visit the temple with reverence and respect.
