The Indian Coast Guard announced that they have successfully evacuated a Chinese national from a research vessel in the Arabian Sea. The Chinese crew member suffered a cardiac arrest and required urgent medical attention. The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre in Mumbai received the alert and established communication immediately with the vessel. Telemedicine advice was given and it was decided to airlift the patient for immediate medical management. The patient was rescued by the Coast Guard Air Station and was administered first aid before being transferred to the vessel’s medical team.
