First lady Jill Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, her spokeswoman announced. However, she is experiencing only mild symptoms. President Joe Biden was tested following his wife’s positive result, and his COVID-19 test came out negative. The president will continue regular testing and monitoring for symptoms. Jill Biden will remain at the couple’s home in Delaware and make arrangements for substitute teachers for her English and writing classes at Northern Virginia Community College. The first lady had traveled with her husband to Florida before her diagnosis, as they inspected the damage caused by Hurricane Idalia. Both Bidens had previously contracted COVID-19 last summer.
