Indian tourists visiting Bahrain reached a record high during the first six months of 2023, with a notable increase of 87%, as reported by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA). In 2022, a total of 269,302 Indian tourists visited the Kingdom of Bahrain. This surge in numbers signifies the growing popularity of Bahrain as a preferred destination for weddings, vacations, and leisure among Indian travelers. Factors such as close proximity to India, convenient connectivity, and a wide range of offerings have made Bahrain an attractive choice for both leisure and business purposes. Overall, Bahrain witnessed a significant rise in international visitors, clocking in at 5.9 million during the January-June period, representing a 51% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Maryam Toorani, the BETA Director of Marketing and Promotion, expressed satisfaction and pride in welcoming such a large number of visitors to the country, highlighting Bahrain’s enduring charm as a tourism destination. With the consistent growth in tourism, Bahrain continues to solidify its position in the global tourism market.
