Telangana Chief Minister (CM) K Chandrasekhar Rao recently unveiled Phase I of the ₹50,000 crore Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme. The project aims to provide irrigation and drinking water to various districts, primarily to curb distress migration of labourers from rural to urban areas. It involves the construction of massive pump sets, tunnel networks, and reservoirs to lift water from the Krishna and Tungabhadra rivers. The scheme is expected to benefit thousands of farmers and boost agriculture in the region, contributing to the overall development of Telangana.
