Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited has successfully inaugurated and operated the highest capacity Gantry Crane installed for the first time in any hydro project in India. The crane, with a capacity of 250 MT, is part of the Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project, which aims to harness clean and sustainable energy. Located on the Subansiri River, serving as the border between Arunachal Pradesh and Assam, the project comprises eight units with a capacity of 250 MW each. It will generate power at its full capacity of 2000 MW. Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited secured the contract for the project in 2006, competing with international companies TechnoPromt Export (Russia), Andritz (Austria) and Alstom (Portugal). The successful inauguration and operation of the Gantry Crane mark a significant milestone in the project’s execution. The crane was designed, manufactured, fabricated, tested, erected, and commissioned by the highly skilled team of Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited.
