North Dakota lawmaker Doug Larsen, who had recently earned his commercial pilot’s license, tragically died in a plane crash in Utah. Larsen, his wife, and their two young sons were flying home from a family celebration in Arizona when the crash occurred. Larsen, a former Black Hawk helicopter pilot, had purchased a Piper Cherokee plane to gain flying experience. The crash is currently under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board. Larsen’s death is mourned by his colleagues in the North Dakota statehouse, who remember him as a dedicated public servant and valued member of the community.
