A contingent of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been assigned to provide counter-terrorist cover at the Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) in Rawatbhata, Rajasthan. The CISF, known for its expertise in securing critical infrastructure, deployed a 200-member team at the facility after a formal ceremony on Thursday. Led by a deputy commandant, the team will ensure the uninterrupted availability of essential fuels for upcoming nuclear reactors.

The NFC Kota facility, located around 50 km from Kota, was established by the NFC, headquartered in Hyderabad, to cater to the fuel requirements of the nation’s upcoming nuclear reactors. As a unit of the Department of Atomic Energy, NFC Kota is situated adjacent to the heavy water plant in Kota. The induction of CISF personnel at NFC Kota is in line with the government’s commitment to strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure.

The CISF spokesperson stated, “The induction of CISF personnel at NFC Kota is part of the government’s commitment to bolstering the protection of critical infrastructure, thereby ensuring the uninterrupted availability of essential fuels for the nation. NFC Kota is the 18th critical government asset under the CISF security umbrella.”
