Bollywood actress Rekha celebrates her 69th birthday today. Throughout her career, she has made many friends in the industry, but her favorite seems to be Shah Rukh Khan. During a 2017 event, Rekha was invited to honor Khan with the Yash Chopra Memorial Award. Alongside famous actors like Shatrughan Sinha and Padmini Kolhapure, she shared her thoughts about Shah Rukh.

Expressing her feelings for Shah Rukh Khan, Rekha recited a poem by Gulzar, ‘Rooh Dekhi Hai Kabhi,’ and beautifully remarked, ‘Have you ever seen a soul? Felt it? A body burns a hundred times but still turns to ash. But a soul, when it burns, turns into a diamond.’

Rekha spoke about Shah Rukh during the event and expressed how wonderful he is in real life. She mentioned, ‘That person (hinting towards SRK), I don’t know how many times that person has killed his soul since his childhood. Which is why he has been shining like a diamond. I pray to God that the way he has made us smile, he is a beautiful human being. Talent flows in his veins, but more than that, he has love to offer, which all of us have seen.’

The actress also recounted a memorable incident during a plane journey where the relentless nature of their work had left her exhausted. Rekha was on the verge of dozing off when SRK insisted she wake up, lower her window, and appreciate the breathtaking sunset before continuing her slumber. Although she did not see the sunset, Rekha turned her gaze towards SRK and felt a deep connection. In that moment, she sensed that he was truly a man of her kind.
