Bengaluru’s Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has allocated Rs 33 crore to fill potholes in the city. The BBMP has floated multiple tenders worth Rs 18 crore for filling up potholes in 14 assembly constituencies. The tender process will be completed in one month, and work will begin soon, according to BBMP’s engineer-in-chief, BS Prahalad. Successful bidders will be responsible for filling up potholes for one year.
The highest allocation of Rs 3.6 crore has been made for Bommanahalli constituency. Other constituencies, including Shivajinagar (Rs 1.5 crore), Chickpet, Jayanagar, and Basavanagudi (Rs 90 lakh each), have also been allocated funds for pothole filling.
Additionally, RR Nagar and Hebbal have been allocated Rs 15 lakh each for eight wards, while Pulikeshinagar and Shantinagar have been allotted Rs 15 lakh each for seven wards. Furthermore, Govindarajanagar has received Rs 60 lakh and Rs 75 lakh for its two subdivisions, and Malleswaram has been allocated Rs 45 lakh and Rs 60 lakh for two subdivisions.
This initiative aims to address Bengaluru’s pothole menace and improve the city’s infrastructure. The BBMP’s efforts to fill potholes will lead to smoother roads and safer commuting for the residents.
