Five members of a family were killed in Jharkhand’s Deoghar district after their car fell off a bridge on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, police said. The accident occurred when their vehicle fell from the bridge into the Siktia barrage, according to Deoghar Superintendent of Police Ajit Peter Dungdung. The Superintendent of Police confirmed that five family members lost their lives in the tragic incident while the driver of the SUV sustained injuries. The accident took place while the family was traveling from Asansol Sankul village in Sarath, Deoghar to Giridih. It was reported that one of the family members, who was an engineer, was driving the vehicle and lost control while trying to take selfies. The police are investigating the incident further to gather more information.
