The principal of a government girls’ school in Haryana’s Jind district has been suspended over allegations of sexual harassment of students. A group of female students had reportedly written letters to the Prime Minister’s Office and National Commission for Women about their ordeal. The Haryana government suspended the school principal on October 27 and formed an inquiry committee to investigate the allegations. The committee, headed by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, will be assisted by the District Education Officer and District Elementary Education Officer. The students alleged that the principal used to indulge in obscene acts and blackmail them. The victims are willing to reveal everything about the principal to higher authorities.
