The Kadathur police in Gobichettipalayam taluk arrested a 32-year-old employee of Tangedco on Monday for causing the death of another worker. R. Suresh Kumar, a 34-year-old gangman, died while attending to a fault atop an electric pole. It was discovered that C. Boopathi unknowingly switched on the power supply, resulting in Suresh Kumar’s electrocution. Boopathi has been arrested and charged under Section 304(2) of the IPC.
