Senior BJP leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje filed her nomination papers on Saturday from Jhalrapatan Assembly constituency for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly election. Raje ruled out the talk of her retirement from active politics and stated that she is looking forward to the next five years of working in the political arena. In her election campaign, Raje praised her son Dushyant Singh, the Jhalawar-Baran MP, for taking good care of his constituency. She clarified that her remarks about retirement were in the context of praising her son and that retirement is not on her agenda. Despite the BJP not projecting Raje as the Chief Ministerial face, several of her loyalists have found a place in the party’s candidate lists. Raje expressed her enthusiasm for the future and dismissed any thoughts of retirement anytime soon. Dushyant Singh, the only son of Raje, is a four-time MP from Jhalawar-Baran. After offering prayers at Balaji temple, Raje handed over her nomination papers to the Returning Officer.
