What started as a sincere effort to showcase India’s cultural heritage, has turned into an online fiasco for fashion designer Sabyasachi. Sabyasachi recently launched his autumn collection ‘HERITAGE BRIDAL 2023’ and shared photos on Instagram. However, the collection received severe backlash from social media trolls who criticized the models for their expressionless faces. Comments ranged from describing the models as ‘Egyptian mummies’ to mocking their disinterested expressions. Some even took it a step further and targeted the models’ appearance. Despite the trolling, Sabyasachi continues to have loyal patrons, with Pakistani cricket team captain Babar Azam reportedly splurging Rs 7 lakh on a Sherwani designed by Sabyasachi for his upcoming wedding.
