Transformers and Electricals Kerala Limited (TELK) has secured an order worth ₹289 crore for transformers, which is the biggest order in the history of the company. The order was awarded to TELK by Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited for the MP Intra State Transmission Package -1 Project in Madhya Pradesh. TELK faced tough competition from both domestic and international players in the field but emerged as the winner due to its business motto of ‘Quality before Quantity, People before Profit’. This order will immensely contribute to TELK’s business and strengthen its position in the market.
The 38 transformers, of various capacities, are expected to be built and transferred to the client within a year, starting from January 2024. This demonstrates TELK’s commitment to delivering projects on time.
TELK’s outstanding orders currently amount to ₹353 crore. With the addition of this new order, the company’s volume of business will increase to ₹642 crore. TELK has consistently been the lowest bidder in many ongoing biddings, giving it an advantageous position in the market.
In addition to this order, TELK has also announced the launch of its service and repair facilities for other transformer manufacturers with a reputable background. Nuclear Power Corporation, Neyveli Lignite Corporation, and NTPC are some of the potential clients that can avail of TELK’s services. The company is expecting repair orders worth ₹16 crore in the near future.
To support its operations and meet the additional working capital requirements, the State government has sanctioned a guarantee of ₹40 crore to TELK. This will enable the company to avail credit facilities from banks and financial institutions. TELK has already invited expressions of interest from banks and financial institutions for providing the credit facilities against government guarantee.
TELK’s achievement of securing the ₹289 crore order highlights its expertise and reputation in the field. With continuous growth and expansion, TELK aims to further solidify its position in the market and remain at the forefront of the transformer industry.
