Drunk Scooterist Injures Police Officer in Mumbai’s Andheri

A police officer named Shyamcharan Gawade was injured in Mumbai’s Andheri area when a scooter being driven by Deepesh Khajekar collided with an iron barricade. The incident occurred near JB Nagar Metro Station, where Gawade was on night duty. Despite signals to stop, the scooterists hit the barricade, causing injuries to Gawade. Khajekar, who was found to be intoxicated, failed to produce a driving license and was taken into custody by the police. One of the pillion riders, Pandit Patil, fled the scene. Gawade is currently stable at Trauma Care Hospital, Jogeshwari, and is scheduled to undergo surgery for his fractured shoulder. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident and are searching for the missing pillion rider, Patil.
