The air quality in Delhi has once again reached the ‘severe’ category just two days after the festival of Diwali. Several areas, including RK Puram, Punjabi Bagh, ITO, and Jahangirpuri, recorded alarming Air Quality Index (AQI) readings. The readings for RK Puram and Punjabi Bagh were 417 and 410, respectively, while ITO and Jahangirpuri recorded AQI readings of 430 and 428. The Central Pollution Control Board has expressed concern over the deteriorating air quality in the city. In addition to Delhi, Ghaziabad, which is in close proximity to the national capital, also reported ‘very poor’ air quality according to the board. The increasing pollution levels in the region are a matter of grave concern and require immediate attention to protect the health of the residents. This alarming situation calls for stringent measures and collective efforts to address the issue of air pollution in Delhi and its neighboring areas.
