The drone cameras are being used to monitor the situation in Uttarkashi’s Silkyara tunnel, where 41 workers have been trapped for 13 days after a portion of the under-construction tunnel collapsed. Squadrone Infra and Mining Pvt Limited’s Managing Director and CEO, Cyriac Joseph, stated that the drones being used are of the latest technology and can go inside the tunnels, even in GPS-denied areas. The priority is the safety of the trapped laborers, and efforts are being made to bring them out safely. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to gather information about the ongoing rescue operation.
