Safety measures have been intensified in the districts of Vellore, Ranipet, and Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu as they prepare for the arrival of Cyclone Michaung. A total of 126 flood-prone areas have been identified, with residents in low-lying regions advised to relocate to safer locations. Vellore Collector P. Kumaravel Pandian has inspected the vulnerable areas and set up an integrated control room and helpline number for emergency situations. Similarly, control rooms have been established in each taluk, and relief camps have been arranged. Ranipet Collector S. Valarmathi has also taken necessary measures to handle rain-related problems. Minister R. Gandhi toured the affected areas and provided compensation to a couple whose mud house collapsed due to the rain. Helpline numbers have been made available for assistance and residents have been urged to report any issues. The Thiruvalluvar University in Vellore has postponed its semester examination due to the cyclone.
