Police in Kanpur have apprehended two poachers and detained two minors after a viral video surfaced allegedly showing them carrying migratory Siberian birds in the riverbed of the Ganga in Maharajpur area of the district. The accused have been booked under the Wildlife Protection Act and sent to jail, while the two minors have been produced before the Juvenile Justice Board. Further action will be taken based on the board’s order.
