The momentum gained by Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) thumping victory in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh (MP) will continue into next year according to Railways, Information Technology, and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Speaking to Twesh Mishra over the phone on Sunday, Vaishnaw who was also the party co-incharge for the MP polls, said that the double-engine sarkar (centre and state being governed by the same party) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s style of working have won the support of electorate.
PM Narendra Modi’s working style of looking after the poorest of poor on the ground and the transformation of Madhya Pradesh under the double-engine government has reinforced public trust and faith in the party. Voters are aspirational towards their development and our victory rides on this.
The public did not have faith in the opposition but despite this they were fanning opinions in their favour. There was a proper political strategy that the BJP followed with micromanagement of the campaign. The opposition did none of this and it seemed they left the ground a week before polls. We realised 6-7 days before the polling date that the Congress had left the battlefield.
