New Zealand leg spinner Ish Sodhi expressed hope for a strong finish to their long season away from home by defeating Bangladesh in the second Test. The Kiwis, who have had a busy schedule with tours to Pakistan, Britain, and the United Arab Emirates before playing in the World Cup in India, aim to end their season on a high. Sodhi acknowledged the emotional rollercoaster the team experienced throughout the season but believes they are super motivated to perform well in the final Test. However, Bangladesh currently leads the two-Test series 1-0 after a convincing win in the opening Test in Sylhet. Sodhi admitted that Bangladesh outplayed them in the first Test, but they have learned valuable lessons and are focused on applying those in the final match. The leg spinner praised Bangladesh for providing a blueprint of success in these conditions and aims to replicate that in the upcoming Test. New Zealand, however, has not won a Test in Bangladesh since their victory in Chittagong in 2008. Despite this, the Kiwis managed to defeat Bangladesh 2-0 in the ODI leg of the tour, ending their 15-year wait for a series victory in the country.
