Owner of a licensed private country cracker manufacturing unit near Thirugokarnam, M. Moorthy, died on Sunday after being injured in an explosion at his unit. The 51-year-old was initially treated at the Pudukottai Government Medical College Hospital before being transferred to a private hospital in Tiruchi, where he succumbed to his injuries. Moorthy was alone at the unit when the blast occurred in the manufacturing shed. The Thirugokarnam Police have registered a case.
