Gas Cylinders at Rs 450 from Jan 1 as Promised in Poll Manifesto: CM

JAIPUR: As pledged in the poll manifesto by BJP, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday announced that the government will provide LPG gas cylinders at Rs 450 from January 1 next year to beneficiaries under the ‘Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme’, renamed after a similar scheme of the earlier Congress government.

A total of 12 cylinders will be provided in a year to beneficiaries and the subsidy transferred to their accounts.

He announced this while addressing the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra camp at Lamba Harisingh village in Tonk. Under the Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme, beneficiaries of the earlier Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and selected BPL families will get cylinders at Rs 450.

Beneficiaries will have to register themselves at the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra camps to avail the same. “Having reduced the burden of kitchen expenses, the state’s poor women will get relief. The government is determined to realise Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay idea of ‘Antyodaya’ by fulfilling all the promises made to the public in the manifesto,” he said.

39 welfare schemes to be delivered via vikas camps: CM
The state government will also adopt a policy of zero tolerance against corruption and fix accountability at every level in such cases that occurred in the state over the past few years, he said.

“Those who stole people’s money will have to account for every penny. Not a single culprit, who played with the future of the youth by leaking question papers will be spared. Strict legal action will be taken against them,” he said.

He said 39 public welfare schemes would be delivered to common people through the vikas camps.

“We are at the top position in the country and has provided benefits to over 68,000 farmers with the Kisan Credit Cards through these camps. Our state stands second in the country for health check-ups to about 11 lakh people and TB tests to 5.76 lakh people. Some 28 lakh people participated in these camps, taking us to the third position in the country,” he said.
